Licensed Associate Professional Counselor
I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor working with the Clarity Counseling PGH office to provide both in-person and virtual counseling to individuals and families.
I have a passion for walking alongside people, encouraging and equipping them to thrive and be resilient mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My approach is holistic, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and psychoeducational. I focus on creating an empathetic, compassionate therapeutic relationship, working together with my clients to achieve their goals and desired outcomes through the integration of evidence-based interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. My family work is informed by attachment theory, and I pull from the model of Family Systems Therapy. It is my honor to celebrate the progress my clients make and take part in this milestone of their story - I welcome laughter, tears, moments of triumph, moments of grief, and all of the above.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Religious Studies from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA, and a Master's in Counseling from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA. My clinical experience has included providing individual counseling to undergraduate students through Geneva College’s Health & Counseling Services. I have also provided disaster mental health care and psychological first aid to families and communities under the supervision of the Institute for Collective Trauma and Growth. Before pursuing professional counseling, I had 8+ years of experience working with children and adolescents in both non-profit and ministry settings, as well as working in marketing and the creative arts. In my spare time, I enjoy crafting (and consuming!) delicious coffee and sourdough bread and conquering any mini-golf course I can find!
I personally attest to a Christian faith, which led me to become interested in compassionate care of others. If explicitly requested by the client, I am delighted to incorporate my Christian faith into the counseling process.
